Violence Prevention
Abuser Intervention Program - is a 24 week program for males over the age of 18 who are court-mandated to attend a domestic violence accountability program for committing abuse with an intimate partner (example: husband/wife; former girlfriend; boyfriend; same sex relationships). The process involves an orientation, intake, and actual counseling sessions.
-
Orientation offers information about the program, its policies, and group goals. No monies are required for orientation.
-
Fees are based on a sliding scale and are determined at intake. Clients are required to bring proof of income to their intake appointment.
-
Intake is offered in most cases one week after orientation. It serves as an opportunity for the counselor to gain more information about the client, their past relationships, history of abuse, other arrests, family dynamics, and any mental health history. Intake also serves an assessment to determine if the client is appropriate for the program, which group they should attend and if they will require other services such as mental health resources, parenting skills and/or individual counseling.
Non-Domestic Violence Anger Management -- Non-DV Anger Management is a 12 week program that focuses on handling conflict between two people who are not in an intimate relationship (example: parent to child; brother and sister; sister and sister; stranger and stranger).
-
At Orientation, participants are required to bring $20, all pertinent court documents, and photo identification. Clients are given credit for orientation and will return on the following week to begin the remaining 11 week program.
Female Abuse Intervention Program - is a 24 week Abuser Intervention program for females over the age of 18 who have been charged with an assault with an intimate partner (example: husband/wife; former girlfriend; boyfriend; same sex relationships). There is a fee involved with participation in this program.
-
Fees are based on a sliding scale and are determined at intake. Clients are required to bring proof of income to their intake appointment.
-
Intake is required for participants prior to beginning the counseling sessions. This is an opportunity for the client and counselor to gain more information about the client, their past relationships, history of abuse, other arrests, family dynamics, and any mental health history. Intake also serves an assessment to determine if the client is appropriate for the program, which group they should attend and if they will require other services such as mental health resources, parenting skills and/or individual counseling.
Stay in Touch - provides continued support services for former clients, both residential and non-residential, and are provided through FAMVIC (Family Violence Intervention Clinic). The goal of this program is to enhance survivor safety and break the cycle of violence in the family through on-going emotional support and life skills education.
