Ways You Can Give
Our Safe Passage Program Emergency Shelter provides victims who are fleeing violence in their homes, a safe, clean and therapeutic environment. Due to the lethality of many domestic violence relationships, the location of the actual facility is undisclosed.
There are many ways for you to help our families regain safety and stability. If you or a group with whom you are involved, would like to gather items for the emergency shelter, we invite you to contact our Residential Director to inquire about our most immediate needs.
Methods of donation
-
Gift Cards or Gift Certificates are accepted for various grocery stores (i.e., Safeway, Giant, Shoppers Food Warehouse), Wal-Mart, Target, and CVS. Also, domestic and international phone cards will be accepted. Donate your used or broken cellular phones (including chargers) to the Verizon HopeLine Program:
Verizon Wireless is a recognized corporate leader for its commitment to preventing domestic violence and raising awareness of the issue. Verizon Wireless' HopeLine program puts the nation's most reliable wireless network to work in our communities by turning unused wireless phones into support for victims of domestic violence. Verizon Wireless collects no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any wireless service provider at our Communications Stores nationwide. Phones that can be refurbished are sold for reuse and those without value are disposed of in an environmentally sound way. Proceeds from the HopeLine program are used to provide wireless phones and cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness.
